COVID-19: Firm Update

March 16, 2020 – Whitley Penn is closely monitoring information from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) as well as federal, state and local officials in response to the COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) outbreak.

The health and wellness of our employees, families, clients and friends is of utmost importance as we navigate through this time. We have implemented recommended procedures to help maintain a safe environment for our employees and for those who visit our offices.

“Social Distancing” is strongly encouraged and when possible, meetings should take place via Skype, other web-based communications, or over the phone. Fortunately, our technological tools enable us to communicate and collaborate so that we can make a concerted effort to continue meeting client service needs. We must all do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so our firm has made the deliberate decision to cancel all previously scheduled firm social and educational meetings that we anticipated hosting in the near future. These events have been postponed until further notice.

Even though the pandemic creates a broad range of concerns, we are here to support you. As more information is available about the potential federal relief program that passed The House over the weekend, our professionals will be dedicated to translating what this means to all of us as we collectively charter unknown territories. We have a designated team of firm leaders who are meeting regularly with a primary focus on monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and welfare of our team and to keep the business disruption at a minimum.

At this time, our physical locations are open and we are carefully watching this rapidly evolving state of affairs. We are committed to keeping you updated as needed and look forward to hearing from you with any questions or concerns.
